Early Childhood Development

(CIDO) implements evidence-based Early Childhood Development interventions that strengthen early learning systems and improve developmental outcomes for young children in vulnerable and underserved communities. Our approach aligns with national ECD priorities and focuses on access, quality, and sustainability during the critical early years of life.

Establishment and Strengthening of ECD Centers

CIDO supports the establishment and strengthening of community-based Early Childhood Development centers to expand equitable access to quality early learning services. We work in partnership with communities, local leaders, and relevant authorities to improve ECD infrastructure, learning environments, sanitation standards, and the availability of age-appropriate learning materials.

Our interventions prioritize safe, inclusive, and child-friendly spaces that promote school readiness, socialization, and holistic child development, with particular attention to children from disadvantaged households and children with disabilities.

Capacity Building for Caregivers and Early Childhood Educators

Recognizing that quality early learning depends on skilled caregivers, CIDO invests in capacity building for caregivers, parents, and ECD educators. We deliver structured training in child development, early learning methodologies, child protection, positive discipline, and inclusive education practices.

CIDO implements early stimulation and play-based learning interventions that support children’s cognitive, physical, emotional, and social development during the formative early years. Using evidence-informed approaches, we integrate play, storytelling, music, movement, and creative activities into daily learning routines.

These interventions foster early literacy and numeracy skills, language development, emotional regulation, and problem-solving abilities, preparing children for a successful transition to primary education and long-term learning success.
